YD 852 Antigraffiti

Lechler presents a protective solution with low environmental impact, the result of a long and painstaking course of research and development carried out in the laboratories in Como: a painting cycle with LOW V.O.C. products, with the application of the transparent varnish YD852 ANTIGRAFFITI HYDRO CLEARCOAT. Lechler’s new transparent paint has a chemical and polyurethane nature and high polymerisation, which allows it to prevent graffiti materials from penetrating into the surface of the paint film. Thus, it is easy to use cleaners to remove writing, tags and drawings done with spray paints, permanent markers and lipsticks.

YD852 ANTIGRAFFITI HYDRO is suitable for protection or recovery of surfaces in metal and plastic, in double-layer cycles on opaque pastel or metallic bases. It has a glossy sheen (90 Gloss) and requires 2:1 catalysis with a hardener from the line Lechsys Hydro YD860 Motive WB Hardener. It is conformant with the standard UNI 11246 “Modality of evaluation of permanent antigraffiti products", which involves at least 10 cycles of graffiti application and subsequent cleaning without alteration of the glossy finish and changes in the chemical/physical properties of the original film

PVC is one of the most popular plastics in the world, and, thanks to the versatility of its composition, it is used in countless applications in various fields, from building to packaging, from furnishing components to fashion accessories. One sector of major use (50%) and development is the Habitat world for the realisation of manufactured items such as fixtures (windows, verandas, shutters), doors and shutters, barriers and fences.

Why are the components for the house made of PVC?

  • The material is suitable for producing manufactured items of any shape and thickness.

  • It has good resistance to scratches and shocks.

  • Good mechanical stability and lightness: the manufactured items do not deform.

  • It has excellent thermal insulation properties.

  • Good weather resistance against  UV, IR and good chemical resistance.

Cladding

LH157 (YD157) and LH158 (YD158) HYDROCRYL 1K, one-pack waterborne fast-drying acrylic enamels, in gloss and matt versions, along with YD101 Hydroprimer 1K HP, an anticorrosive, colourable 1K primer, that allows you to carry out the complete painting process.

The characteristics of these two enamels are easy application, good aesthetic appearance, excellent mechanical characteristics, fast drying, good adhesion on the YD101 Hydroprimer 1K HP, satisfactory direct adhesion on pre-existing coatings in good condition, steel and cast iron and their low VOC content.

Hydrocryl 1K has been developed to offer the market a specific solution with low solvent content for the restoration of building cladding. It is available “just in time” at all official Lechler distributors that use the Lechsys Hydro tintometric system with a large colour choice, specific to the Architectural sector. Customised colours are also available according to the customer's needs and requests.

Hydrocryl 1K in the gloss and matt versions has been repeatedly tested in the UK, where, in the industrial sector, this type of building is common.

Clearcoats for galvanically treated substrates

Galvanised manufactured items are coated with clearcoats to give gloss or matt aesthetic protective effects from oxidation, corrosion or mechanical stress (shocks and scratches) as well as to reduce the thickness of the metal used for the galvanised substrate, ensuring protection by applying a suitable thickness of paint. Indeed, items intended for sectors requiring high aesthetic characteristics are often subject to strongly oxidising and corrosive actions. This is the case, for instance, of clothing accessories, leather goods and footwear, which are often quickly deteriorated by aggressive substances partially contained in leather and textiles with which they come into contact, or objects such as knobs and handles or taps, repeatedly handled and therefore subject to frequent manipulation.

Formaldehyde is a chemical substance used to form resins in the chemical, pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries and belongs to volatile organic compounds. In the ’80s, it was widely used, but today, current regulations impose an upper limit inside the product equal to 0.1%.

Corrosion

In the industrial field, there are many needs and requirements that must often be considered, especially in the case of metal products prone to corrosion.

Corrosion is the natural result of the deterioration of metal due to its chemical reaction with the surrounding environment. Any product or steel structure that is unprotected and exposed to air and water or is in direct contact with the ground will corrode and require maintenance.

One of the best ways to prevent corrosion is to protect the object with a protective coating.

A suitable painting cycle is essential to ensure appropriate protection and use of the product according to the customer’s needs or requirements. Lechler Tech offers a wide range of anti-corrosion products designed to meet specific needs and specifications. We offer products for direct application on the surface of metal that guarantee a primary barrier against rust, as well as higher-performing products and ones of high resistance suitable for more aggressive environmental and process conditions.

The table lists the many products of the Lechler Tech brand, which include basic anti-rust products; more protective and easy-to-use wash primers; quick-drying primers; and more specific anti-corrosion primers of different chemical properties, which, in more aggressive conditions, can be painted over with organic zinc coatings that offer very high resistance to corrosion. Lechler Tech completes this range with products for direct application on metal that serve a dual purpose: protective and aesthetic.

It should be pointed out that, for an object to be fully protected, a finish should also be applied. This can be provided in the colour and level of opacity you require, and it will make the object duly resistant to atmospheric agents and ageing. Lechler Tech offers solutions involving different chemical properties and glosses to be combined with primers/undercoats (see the table) and different application systems.

Ciclo Carbon Look

Carbon fibre, thanks to its exceptional strength and lightness, is increasingly used in various sectors, from automotive to sporting, and even in design and the production of high-end consumer goods. However, to maintain its characteristics over time and enhance its aesthetic appeal, particularly its distinctive weave, it is essential to adopt an appropriate painting cycle.

The choice of suitable products and techniques in the painting cycle of carbon fibre is crucial not only for preserving its mechanical and structural properties but also for enhancing the aesthetic appeal of this innovative material, making it ideal for applications that require both performance and elegance.

The painting process must begin with thorough surface preparation, which involves proper sanding of the resin matrix in which the carbon fibre is "embedded". In fact, one of the main challenges in working with carbon fibre is the presence of porosity and irregularities on its surface, which can compromise the structural integrity and visual appearance of the finished pieces.

After proper sanding and degreasing of the surface, the application cycle involves the use of a high-fill primer: 30100 CARBON PRIMER TRX FILLER. The use of this high-thickness primer helps to fill these imperfections, creating a smooth and uniform surface that improves the adhesion of subsequent paint applications. Additionally, its high transparency ensures that the characteristic woven appearance of the carbon fibre remains visible, thus maintaining the desired aesthetics.

Thanks to its filling properties and high transparency, this primer represents an effective solution for optimising production and ensuring high-quality results in the most demanding sectors, such as automotive and product design.

The next phase is the application of the 30102 CARBON LOOK FINISH clear coat. This stage of the process is crucial for achieving a high-quality final result with exceptional gloss, capable of enhancing the beauty and complexity of the carbon fibre weave. It stands out for its high resistance to weathering, without degradation due to natural exposure, humidity, temperature variations, and other environmental factors. Furthermore, its extremely hard surface makes it resistant to abrasions, scratches, and wear, thus ensuring long-lasting durability and maintaining the beauty of the painted item over time.

The offering is completed with two pre-pigmented primers specifically for application on carbon fibre: 30101 Carbon Grey Filler and 30103 Carbon Black Filler, which are easily overpainted with the Lechsys and Lechsys Effect system's finishes and matte bases. This compatfibre allows end-users to experiment with a wide range of effects and finishes, from simple pastel colours to the most sophisticated effects, ensuring high-quality lacquered cycles.

Isofan: follow the evolution!

Isofan enamel comes with an innovative formulation that pays attention to the environment (DBTL-free and low VOC content) and is also improved in the speed of drying and easy to use with most popular application systems.
Isofan represents Lechler Tech's most competitive and technologically advanced solution, with an excellent quality/price ratio and a very high aesthetic result thanks to a complete and dedicated product portfolio of hardeners (13500 ISOFAN HARDENER FAST, 13600 ISOFAN HARDENER and 13700 ISOFAN HARDENER ULTRA FAST) and thinners (00550 ISOFAN THINNER and 00560 ISOFAN THINNER SLOW).
